Ep.27 - Chatting with the Leadville 100 Race Director

Bob and Dina huddle with Tamira Jenlink, who took on the role of Race Director for the Leadville Race Series in the Fall of 2021. Her background is quite varied and includes Experiential/Wilderness Therapy, coaching athletes in mind performance and physical training, advanced academic education in psychophysiology, and coaching the Leadville Devo 6th to 8th grade team. Tamira is also a competitive MTB cyclist for the past 12 years and has numerous top race finishes that she likely won’t bring up in conversation if you meet her.

We discuss:

  • The curiosity around defining oneself as an athlete and going inward as we train and compete

  • The opportunity of the parasympathetic nervous system state

  • The beauty of Leadville and how to support the community

  • Some of the top items on Tamira’s “To Do list” as she settles into the RD role for the Leadville Race Series

  • Advice for how to think about training for the Leadville races
